Sheila and I went to see SOS (Son's of Sylvia) last Saturday night.
They were amazing.
We arrived there about 5:30pm and sat in the car listening to SOS til about 6:15pm. We got a good parking spot and it was interseting to see the age and variety of people that were there.
When the doors were opened we went in and walked around the venue to scope out where the merchendise areas were as I had heard from the SOS message board and directly from the guys that they would be meeting people after their set and during Craig Morgan's set. So....I wanted to know where to go.
I had gone to Walmart and bought Green glow sticks as they know we are from the SOS Boards if we have them and during the show I waved them. There were about 10 other people in the stadium that had them
Our seats were ok. I was secrelty wishing I was front row but was just glad to be there. The started their set with a cover of "Gimmie Shelter" by the Rolling Stones.
Then I think Ashley introduced Adam and Austin and told everyone they were single. The then started into Revolution...what an amazing song. I love it.
The also played:Not 100% sure of the order but....
John Wayne
50 Ways
A blugrass type instrumental song
Say My Name
Love Left to Lose
Right before they played the last song they said they would be meeting people by the merchandise area after their set. So I was out the door and waiting before they song was over. Poor Sheila had to catch up with me but I had asked her before if she minded me running off ahead of her and she said she didn't so I was gone.
We waited patielty for them to come out and were the 4th and 5th person in line. There were a couple of young women and I am assuming their mom waiting. They didn't appear to have known too much about them at all but I filled them in. I told them about the message board, them winning NGAB, etc. So finally after waiting about 25 min they came out.
OMFG....they are HOT and so friendly and humble. My camera's batteries died and I was freaking out. I felt like I was meeting Goo for the first time. I was sweating and shaking. I didn't want to miss my time with them.
I shook Adam's hand and told him we voted for them and that they were awesome. Then I shook Austin's hand. I asked when the CD was coming out and they said; " April 27th" Next I chatted with Ashley. I told him I had the glow sticks and he said he saw them and thanks for supporting them. He then asked my name and I said "Thinkaboutgoo" Then was like what an ass and said Ruth. He said; "That is a beautiful name" I blushed. Then someone took a pic of us. It was kind of awkward as there was a table in the way but I put my arm around Ashley.
We walked away and came back a little later and took more pics. It was GREAT. We went back to our seats and waited for Carrie. Her set was amazing. She had so many things going on at all times. We cried durning a couple of her songs but...it was all good. When she sang What Can I say they guys came out again and played and Ashley sang. OMG....the place was on fire.
I am so glad we went and can't wait to see them again. I guess I will just have to settle for the CD for now as I am not sure when or where they will be once this tour is over but....I hope they get a headlining show if their own as they deserve it.
